Description

Date can be used in case the exact point in time is not relevant for the context or if more information might not be available (e.g. Pregnancy/ CalculatedDateOfBirth). Used to store information that only needs date content.

Use

Date can be used to store single dates e.g. birthdays or periods (e.g. startDate & endDate of medication).

Not use

Do not use for data that contains time information.

Rules

Months and days must have a leading zero if they have only on char in their numerical representation. The month May is represented with “05” not only “5”. The pattern for the date string is (d means digit):

Update Rhythm

Theoretically this information can be updated as often as needed. As described above this data type is usually used in a specific context. Therefore the update rhythm is always defined in the context usage.
