In physiology, body water is the water content of a body, contained in tissuesm the blood, the bones, or elsewhere. Body water is a significant fraction of the human body. Measurement via balance has high fluctuations, depending on the volume of fluid intake and outtake (e.g. sweating).
Body Water is a specific data object to store body water as percentage of bodymass respectivly bodyweight.
Use– Documentation of body water percentage – For evaluations via analytic balance in ambulant settings – Calculate composition of body weight – Actual or past measurements – Exact measurement or Calculation
Not use– Do not use for estimation – Do not use for determination of body water due to other methods
The Body Water is a measurement object without any specific attributes. See Measurement for more information.
If past measurements should be recorded, the start date must contain the date of measurement.
For body water no LOINC code is available, use the CGM LOINC add-on:
|XCG80083-9||Body water percentage|
See Measurement Enums for more information.
See Measurement Catalogs for more information.
Because various factors can have an effect on Body Water, such as changes in weight or lifestyle, the Body Water object can be updated up to several times a week.Recommended rules: – Maximum once a week if body water is constant. – Maximum once a day if body water varies.
See Measurement Schema for further information.
No EHR or Tenscan standards.
